I'm terribly DEPRESSED......just saw "Hacking Democracy" on HBO
The sense of helplessness and hopelessness I feel is overwhelming. How could such a situation happen in this country? I've already voted and I feel like it doesn't matter. I'm going to have to take a Valium to calm down!

7. You may be correct.
But the situation is going to get very, very, very ugly. November 2 is just the beginning of the real fireworks.

A New Independence Day will have to be Declared.

3. I was too when I saw it
like kicking you in the stomach. Not so much as to what is going to happen on this Tuesday, but the overall feeling that Democracy is like a TV show. That it can be manipulated based on agendas and not hte votes of the people.

4. No one can control EVERYTHING.
A glitch here and there will always happen here, but the TREND is SO clear that it makes my heart race too. We will be OK! It's just SHOWTIME jitters!!!

the delicious taste of schadenfreude Tuesday night and Wednesday! And it's about damned time, too!

I especially cannot WAIT to see Little Sicky Rantorum's blubbering meltdown on national TV, I've been waiting a long time for that!

5. You don't need any Valium!
I agree that the whole thing is absolutely infuriating, and it's especially infuriating that we're told to "get over it" or that we're just paranoid nuts, whenever we try to push the issue and get the facts out. Even when we try to get the facts out about, say, that the private companies that manufacture the voting machines and the proprietary software that runs them are owned by/linked to staunch republicans, which is, in and of itself, a gross conflict of interest.

HOWEVER, I think that too many Dems have too wide a lead over too many repuke opponents for them to be able to really get away with too many shenanigans this time. This time, when they try it (and I say when and not if, because you know damn well they will do just that) not only will many voting rights groups be ready for them and their tricks, but it will attract unwanted suspicion, attention and subsequent scrutiny because the usually accurate, reliable polls show too wide of a Dem lead in too many races. They really won't be able to get away with too much this time. And if they do, then there really IS no hope for Americans anymore.

11. Sorry,
but I'm an historical pessimist.

Since the 2000 election it has been "proved" that the elections were STOLEN by the neo-cons. So now you think something is gonna be different?

The REAL problem is the CORPORATE media. They have made excuses and cover-ups for every stolen election since BushBaby was illegally installed into the WH.

The MEDIA has a PROVEN track record of covering-up this fascist take-over of OUR country.

The media already has many, many, many back-stories to explain the unexplainable. Think I'm kidding? Just look at recent history.

12. Again, I say the tide is turning;
people are wising up to the corporate lackey MSM's manipulative bullshit, and too many Dems have too wide leads for the pukes to be able to get away with their usual tricks without attracting unwanted suspicion and scrutiny.

20. Please don't take this the wrong way.
I consider myself a "Radical Pragmatist." I think the Dems will take the House. Ho-Hum.

Any reasonable analysis would predict that the ReThugs should all be thrown out on their asses. That's what the People want. That's not what the people have gotten since 2000.

However, a small "win" in the House will quell all suspicions about election fraud and will provide the M$M a shield for what should have been a rout.

If the Dems take the House, let the inquiries begin.

However, the M$M will dismiss all those exposures as "partisan."

That crappy scenario is only the beginning. If the Dems win the House.... Watch Out.... (not kidding)

8. Another depressed citizen checking in
I think my jaw dropped about halfway through and never shut.

Unbelieveable.

The most moving scene was that woman weeping.

13. I had the same reaction
it was very depressing to watch. All we can do at this point is get out and vote and if the repubs take the House there will hopefully be a tsunami of outrage that will expose these election shanigans...

19. My mother-in-law called tonight to tell me she had seen it on HBO
She was stunned!! She said "is this what you were trying to tell us two years ago?" and I said yes. She said "we all thought you were off your nut" but no longer. She said "you were right all along!"

It was gratifying to hear that this documentary is having an impact, if for no other reason than to mend my tattered reputation (in this area). People are paying attention--finally.

21. HA! Now you're a 'certified' genius.
Feels good, doesn't it?

Not in that gloating "told ya so" way, but in accepting the genuine recognition of those who mocked (or whatever) you before. Empowering Moment! Congratulations!!
