Gallup Polls put Dems in good position to win Senate.
http://www.usatoday.com//news/polls/tables/live/2006-11-05-state-polls.htm

Missouri McCaskill by 4%
Montana Tester by 9%
New Jersey Menendez by 10%
Rhode Island Whitehouse by 3%
Tennessee Corker(R) by 3%
Virginia Allen(R) by 3%(tied among registered voters)

Other than Virginia, those results were encouraging.

2. Yeah. I think it's closer than that, but in the aggregate, these numbers
are good.

3. What the heck is happening in RI?
This is the 2nd poll in a row that had this race under 3%. I mean I understand why people like Chafee, but he gain 7%-10% in 1 week.

9. Whitehouse is up 12% among registered voters (49-37)
As long as there is a decent turnout, Whitehouse should win.

7. However, their numbers this year are certainly within the range of
other numbers unlike in 2004.

5. I'm biting my nails.
History suggests a big win in the House means we will also take the Senate. Some races have really tightened up though and I'm on the edge of my seat. The polls are really vacillating it is making me crazy. Aaaarrggggghhh!!!!!

6. Don't count out VA. We've heard Webb is ahead. I've talked to
some who have been right-leaning who are going to be voting straight Dem on Tuesday.

Reason: gas prices (when they went up over $3.50), things are a mess.

8. I think Webb wins in VA.
All the momentum has been with him. This probably used a very tight voter screen which would favor Allen by reducing minority turnout.

11. Webb has run a hell of a race
No one expected this race to be competitive. Then of course there was Macaca and it started to tighten, but in a state like VA that wasn't enough on its own to win.

I'm really excited about the possibility of having Allen and Santorum out of the senate.

10. I think we'll win Virginia
Democratic tunrout will most likely beat Republican turnout. Also, most of the other recent polls showed Webb leading there.

12. I agree. Polls have also constantly overstated the white vote in VA
when they put it at 83-85%. It's more in the 72-74% range.
