Larry Sabato predicts Democrats will take control of the Senate by winning 6 seats -- Virginia and Missouri go Democratic, Tennessee does not -- and the House by winning a 29 seats. In the states, he sees Democrats picking up 7 gubernatorial seats.

2. Remember, these guys are very conservative.

Meaning that they are cautious. (Sabato is also conservative in the political sense, but strives to be non-partisan in his predictions.)

If he and Rothenberg, and Charlie Cook, and others are all predicting thirty or more House seats, they are being cautious.

I'm still comfortable with my prediction of upwards of fifty House seats and seven Senate seats. (However, I no longer think that eight Senate seats is probable--it doesn't look like AZ is going to flip.)
