Setting up the polls for tomorrows's election and what a surprise. |
|
Edited on Mon Nov-06-06 11:44 AM by lonehalf
Selected precincts in some of Georgia's counties are beta testing paper printouts so voters can confirm who they voted for.
They also are going to recount the actual tally versus what the printouts show as part of the test.
I have been asked to participate in the recount. All poll managers in those counties will too.
Won't wonders never cease?
Also a technical team from a large corporation (not one supplying any election materials) is going to validate that all the software in these machines is the same all over the state.
(edited to say "Tomorrow's election"

3. Those printouts are useless |
|
unless they're collected in locked boxes right after the voter has confirmed them.
The Princeton hackers had printouts. The votes weren't flipped until they were downloaded.

4. We were told they were going to be collected. just like the... |
|
...disks from the individual machine and the accumulator. Thats in a locked box that is opened at the county elections office.
And the recount will be of all machines and will be compared to all the printouts.
