Prominent republican dies in Prison

ku klux klan imperial wizard (in other words a prominent republican) sam bowers died in a Mississippi penitentiary at age 82. bowers was found guilty of ordering the 1966 firebombing of 58 year old Vernon Dahmer who had the audacity to champion equal voting rights for blacks. Dahmer told residents they could pay their poll taxes at his grocery store next to his house. bowers ordered his fellow republicans to fire bomb the house and the store. The crime occurred in 1966, bowers wasn't convicted until 1998.

No doubt an incredibly sad day at free republic. Maybe a visit to their local male prostitute will ease their pain, or a quick salacious email to the 14 year old boy next door.

Caveat for all spin lawyers. bowers was most likely a democrat in 1966. At that time the dems were the party of racists in the south. However the racists in the south now feel cozy and right at home in the grand old party. While the dems have a big tent, the gop has a huge closet.
