If you happen to look out your window tonight and see a faint glow burning in Vermont, it`s my Hope Candle and it`s for you.

DU is a rowdy place, members going every which way nearly 24/7. That`s the beauty of it. Big tent. Lots of ideas and plenty of heart. One thing`s for certain....when it`s important to come together, we do just that. Over the last month we`ve gone from Animal House to Rock Wall and I love it.

So, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your determination, your principles, your hard work. You`ve saved my sanity on many occasions. Good luck tomorrow! ~PEACE~

I'll break out my Christmas light early and put it in the window. My mother put it in my bedroom window when I joined the Navy in 72, so I could always find my way home. My parents have both passed away but I still have that candle and it shines brightly every Christmas. Thanks for the reminder and your sentiments.

8. She kept that (electric) candle

in "my" bedroom window in their home until she died in 89. I then asked Dad if I could have it and he asked me if he could keep it in his home and told me to make sure I got it when he died. He left us in 04 and the candle still shines brightly in our home. I tear up the first time I turn it on every year.
