How will Bush be on Wednesday?
Seriously, I'm curious. I really believe that Bush believes a lot of what his handlers are telling him, and I really believe that they're not giving him the straight scoop. They're keeping him as a real life cheerleader, and fueling his fantasy vision.

Karl Rove is very optimistic they'll win. Maybe they've got something up their sleeve and they will. Maybe he's just being optimistic, because to be otherwise would be tantamount to conceding defeat. But what have they told Bush?

Does he even know that, waiving any election shenanigans, they most likely will lose one or both houses of Congress? If they do election shenanigans and steal this election too, we're in big trouble, but if the people speak, my impression is that the people will say "out on your butts", and go heavily dem.

Does Dubya even know this is possible? He prides himself on not reading the news, and having people bring it to him. Are they afraid to say he might lose? Does he know WHY he's relegated to speaking in only the reddest of the red states? Will he get a nasty surprise Tuesday night?

Is there another "biking accident" in his future as the reality sets in? Are we looking at deep depression, or manic rage, or...?

Having an uninformed, emotionally unstable leader suffering a setback does not encourage me in the least.

2. I don't think they have told him
the truth since day one....and I think he's too damn slow to know the difference....and even if he did, his mental state has never been the best.

What I remember most about the '04 election is bushbots sitting in a room in the WH looking scared as hell as the initial returns started coming in.....cut to Rove who is grinning and laughing...cut to Novak (who oughta be swinging next to saddam) who is looking like someone has a gun to his head....wait a couple hours and Ohio is a mess and Bush is smiling again.

YOu can't tell me Rove and his band of merry men didn't get on the horn and set the wheels of election theft in place that night. One only has to look at the faces of the main players and it all comes very clear.

It's gonna happen again, except this time, this country won't stand for it and the days of the Bush Banana Republic are over.

5. Well, what I meant was...
They can say "everything's great in Iraq". They can fly him over and troops can cheer. They can take him to Potemkin villages and everything is roses.

But you can't gloss over the fact that you don't run both houses of Congress any more. So although they may have misled him on any number of things, they can't mislead him on this. My question is, I guess, if there's bad news, does he know it might be coming down the pike? If not... :hide:

9. You're right about election 04 night
from everything I've read- Rove pressed some magic buttons or made dire phone calls- and poof! Well, it won't be so easy to have SO MANY races to fix! That's what's going to be difficult for him. However, they if it happens, it's probably going to be very well orchestrated. They can't possibly get away with it this time- though- TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE WATCHING!!!!

7. I'm getting this image of a wacky sitcom situation in which Rove is trying to hide the real numbers
Like when the new committee chairmen come over to meet at the White House, Rove convinces Dub that it's "opposite day" and that all the Republican chairmen are pretending to be Democrats as a joke. Then when Pelosi shows up, Rove coughs real loud every time she says the work "Speaker" and tries to rush the boy out of the room before she can catch on. When the subpoenas arrive, Rove tells the boy that he's only signing autographs for a little girl in the hospital named "Su B Poena" and that the handcuffs are "special cancer awareness" bands.

Wackiness ensues.

16. Bingo!
And with the signing statements, he's already shown that he doesn't give a fuck about a Congress in which his party has the MAJORITY (for now). So why should he give a shit about one controlled by the Dems? If anything, he'll make even more outlandish power grabs.
