Unscientific, But: GOP in My Family & Acquaintances Not Going to Vote. |
|
Are any of you experiencing the same thing?
I can name over 12 people I know who are Republican who have admitted to me that they are not going to vote "this time".
Now, I also know a lot of people who I never, ever thought would vote for a Democrat who are doing just that.
And the rest of the Republicans I know are laying very low and keeping quiet.
I think this is going to be a big sweep.

6. I was (unfortunately) in a Hospital in SC that had big placard on stand |
|
in the reception area advertising how to vote on the new "touch screen" voting machines and a big explanation to the left of the "Marriage Amendment" bill that's on their ballot.
I assume this wasn't an "education" for voters on "how to use the touchscreens" but put there by Repug Ops to state the whole "Marriage is Between Man and Woman Amendment" in front of every visitor to that hospital.
But, that's SC and I think only Tennesee and Virginia have the same disgusting Fundie Amendment on the ballot...but it was disappointing to see how organized they are that they have this huge thing sitting right in front of the elevators in the Hosptial Reception area.
My relatives are voting for Bush because they like that amendment and they think the Dems are driving small businesses out because of excessive regulation on environment in SC... :eyes: Iraq isn't an issue with them...:-( I'm thinking that the "very red states" might not have awakened as much as we might think and are still doing "one or two issue" voting. I hope that I'm wrong and that this "Constitutional Amendement" and the rest of the Repug Lies goes down in defeat in the Bible Belt, but given all the Christian Radio and the rest down there....who knows? And, my relatives aren't even "Fundie Evangelists."
I was down there because relative is dying and I'm glad to be back even though my state is red...it isn't that bad.
