Election Eve Prayer Thread (for those of you who pray)

I would put this in the Prayer Circle Group, but it's kind of late.

Here's my prayer (I'm a Catholic):

Almighty God, recognizing that freedom and democracy are not birthrights shared by all in the world, I humbly give thanks to You that I live in America and can freely vote on candidates of my choosing.

Therefore, God, grant that our elections process runs fairly, and that each vote will be counted accurately. Grant furthermore that we may elect officials who help the least of Your people.

In Jesus's most holy name, Amen.

Dear Lord, I do not believe that you take sides in politics - I believe that attitude is arrogant and destructive. There are corrupt Democrats in this country, just as there are corrupt Republicans. Even so, I realize that there are forces of darkness growing in America that threaten to consume this nation with hatred, oppression, fear, and intolerance, and I ask that you give us and other Americans the ability to do whatever we can to oppose them. I ask that you give us the ability to restore America to the nation it's founders envisioned. Amen
