Poll Shows Granholm Ahead

Jennifer Granholm (D) 49 percent

Dick DeVos (R) 42 percent

Undecided 9 percent

The telephone poll of 600 likely voters statewide was conducted Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday by Lansing-based EPIC-MRA for The Detroit News and TV stations WXYZ in Southfield, WOOD in Grand Rapids, WILX in Lansing and WJRT in Flint. The poll, which was copyrighted, had a sampling error margin of plus or minus 4 percentage points. Three third-party candidates each got less than 1 percent.

OF INTEREST: Granholm has slipped back below 50 percent, but the poll also shows that more voters think Granholm understands their concerns than DeVos and that more trust her to do what is right to improve the economy. More also blame President Bush instead of Granholm for the state's economic woes, it shows.
