Sequoia Touch Screen w/paper audit trail vs Sequoia Scan
My voting place lets you pick your poison..

A) the touch screen, AVC Edge II by Sequoia voting Systems which supposedly comes with "voter verified paper audit trail"

or

B) paper ballot with Optical Scan System also by Sequoia Voting System

I guess I'm going with B, because I feel like the paper ballot is about equal to a "voter verified paper audit trail". Is my thinking correct?

1. Not unless they collect that slip of paper into a locked box
because the hacks have all produced accurate voting receipts but have flipped votes during the download.

2. sequoia
so... would you say it probably doesn't matter which evil method I select at this time?

I AM going to vote, no matter what... but it pisses me off that we have to worry about this.

7. Demand a paper ballot
and be loud about it.

My paper ballot was labeled "absentee," even though it was early voting at a polling location. Surely they can do the same for you.

3. B.....in the case of a recount you have a paper ballot not a paper trail.

4. Paper ballot optical scan -- ALWAYS
If you have a choice between DRE (any brand with or without VVPAT) and PBOS (paper ballot optically scanned) ALWAYS choose the paper ballot. It is ALWAYS the vote of record in a recount and you KNOW it is a true record of your vote.

5. that makes sense to me...
Here's hoping Debra Bowen can beat incumbent republican Bruce McPherson as Secretary of State (California) so we can start listening
to our state's many smart computer technologists who know better than to trust electronic voting machines.

6. 50% of the voting machines in Nevada are Sequoia scanners and
50% are Sequoia paper trailed machines. I'd use the paper trail ones if you have a choice. The other ones cannot be used to verify an individual vote.
