Remind me again? What was the October (Nov) surprise?
Mark Foley?

Rush Limbaugh's trashing of Michael J. Fox?

The increase in violence and US troops and Iraqi citizens' deaths in Iraq?

Nuclear secrets, in Arabic, on a government website?

The increasing number of active duty US troops filing formal complaints against the government because of the war?

The books, "State of Denial" and "Tempting Fate"?

Cheney saying that the insurgents(read terrorists) want the Dems to win?

Ted Haggard?

George Allen, maccaca and "I'm not Jewish" remarks?

George Allen thugs beating up an American citizen?

Marilyn Musgrave running from Michael Schiavo?

Conrad Burns dissing firefighters?

Bob Beauprez illegally accessing a law enforcement website for campaign information?

Dennis Hastert "accepting responsibility" and then refusing to step down?

Boehner saying that Hastert was told about Foley over a year ago?

gwb campaigning in the reddest states, counties in the country?

And, the repub candidates still, mostly, avoiding him?

Rove's surprises...

John Kerry flubbed a joke...oh, and be afraid of Nancy Pelosi.

Anyway, I've got to GOTV, I have to tear myself away from DU for the most important cause.

Hang in there, all.
:pals:

4. Wow...all that in just Oct/Nov. The list just keeps growing!
It's vote by mail in my state, so I already voted and delivered my ballot several days ago. The wait begins...

Hang in there yourself! Thanks for this post.

6. It was the Saddam Conviction and the IN YOUR FACE Robo calls
That was / is the October surprise. Seriously.

This robo calling stuff is actually very serious. And illegal. And the Repukes are just flat out violating the law right and left and they don't care.

7. I think they want Dems to gain seats...
so they can blame them when it comes time for presidential elections.

Also, some of the incumbents were not cooperating with the White House this past year.

10. Ask me tomorrow.
I just got this eerie, irrational feeling that something's going on totally under the radar, something that we have no suspicion of. This is not a rational fear, and just comes from having been kicked from out of nowhere too many times in the past. I'm voting, will try to get everyone I can to vote, will keep fighting, etc., but I just can't shake the spooked feeling.

12. I know what you mean. I'm so cautious in my optimism it's almost pessimism.
However, there was talk for the last year and a half of the surprise that never came.

Or, if it did, it was drowned out by yet another repub scandal or illegality.

BTW, early voters in Denver cast over a half million ballots!

I'm off, :hi:, GOTV, GOTV! MKJ
