Had to show an I.D. in Missour-a
I just came from voting here in my little conservative town of Branson west Missour-a and I had to show my drivers license?
First of all, I was accousted out side by people handing out, "vote no on amend. 2" B.S. Then inside a little old lady wearing a flag shirt asked me for an I.D. and replied that the Missour-a supreme court had overturned that.she replied that she hadn't heard that? So she asked this other elderly gentleman wearing a flag shirt about it an he replied that you still haft to show an I.D. I insisted again and I soon became the center of attention.
Well, after going back and forth for awhile and fearing they were going to have a heart attack, I relented and pulled out my I.D. Another man came over and said that you don't haft to show a birth cert. but you do haft to show a pic. I.D?
Maybe it was the Claire McCaskill sticker on my shirt???
The turn out was heavier than I have ever seen.
KEEP THE FAITH BABY !!!!!!

1. You do need some form of ID, just not a photo ID
a recent utility bill or pay check showing your name and address is enough.

4. Hell, read this! Dem head of MO elections, Robin Carnahan, was asked 3 times to show ID!
Evidently, the supervisor of election in Missouri have not gotten the word out to the poll workers, or they are ignoring the Supreme Court decision striking down the Missouri ID requirement.

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/us/AP-ELN-Voting-Problems.html

Although not required by federal law, some states passed new voter identification requirements, some calling for a government-issued photo ID rather than just a utility bill.

Courts have struck down ID requirements in several states, but Missouri's chief elections official, Robin Carnahan, said she was still asked three times to show a photo ID, despite a court ruling striking the requirement down there.

7. They should have been more worked up about 'electioneering', ie your McCaskill sticker
no electioneering within 25 feet of the polling place.

They didn't make you take it off?

Did you have a voter reg card to show them?

8. What is the big deal about showing an ID?

I had to show an ID at my polling place, as did everyone in front of me and behind me....

9. Everyone DOES need to show ID
and there should have been a posting (probably near the entrance) at the polling place explaining WHAT kind of ID is acceptable.

I showed my Voter ID, no photo, just name and address with signature - and was ready to argue if they asked for photo ID (although I had that with me and easily could have produced it). I had no problem.
