Have a Receipt With That Vote?
So I go to vote and it strikes me that there is only one reason you don't get a receipt for your vote. It would help safeguard your vote in some way against fraud and that would be letting the terrorists win.

Before voting I bought a coffee and donut- got a receipt, before that a sub and some chips- got a receipt, some gas- had the option to get a receipt but when I cast my vote in our free and fair democratic election system- no receipt.

Brilliant isn't it?

5. Just finished voting
Husband and I were the only ones there besides the voting officials. I voted as usual, straight Democrat, so did my Husband, while a guy looked over my shoulder, a first for that. After voting I saw little red lights flashing and he said it was recorded. When I questioned how was it that nothing came up verifying my vote for the Dems he said, "Oh, your vote was recorded, don't worry about that", to which I replied, "A, vote was recorded, all I saw was flashing red lights, how do I know who it was recorded for"? He repeated the same thing "Oh, your vote was recorded". I live in a red area and I'm sure the guy who watched me vote was a Republican, as there are few Democrats. The reason the polling place was empty was probably because they stayed home and didn't want to vote for the Democrats even though they know full well that the Republicans have destroyed this country.

3. I got the stub of my ballot back
It doesn't reflect HOW I voted, but it does have a number on it that indicates which ballot was mine. (We use Ink-A-Vote here in L.A. County, CA.)

4. A receipt would do nothing
other then giving you a false sense of security.

6. You can't get a receipt with your vote because it could lead to
selling the vote. Show proof of your vote to an unscrupulous candid tate and collect $$.

The founding fathers came up with that idea.
