If some of the "Safe" republicans got caught in this wave of ours and actually lost.

2. Happened to several Tories in 'safe' seats in the 1997 British election; most notably
Michael Portillo, whose expression of utter shock became an icon of that election. An election catchphrase was "Were you up for Portillo"? Maybe you'll all be asking each other, "Were you up for (insert Republican of your choice)?"
