1st exit polls on CNN.
Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 05:17 PM by trof
#1 issue for voters: Corruption!
42% said that.
Folks, I think we win on that one.
Bill Schneider says "bad for Republicans".

paraphrasing:
National issues outweigh local issues by 2 to 1.
More good news for Dems.
This time Tip was wrong. ALL politics is NOT local.

2nd issue was economy.
3rd was Iraq.

It's looking good, I think.

On edit: Terrorism #2, Economy #3, Iraq #4.
And closely bunched from about 42% Corruption to 37% Iraq.

2. Yes definately .... definately a good sign

Where is "morality" at? Oh that's right....it's been pushed up under "Corruption", the code-word foe Democratic morality. Good sign #1

16. I guess voters are going to expect that the new Congress INVESTIGATE STUFF
Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 05:44 PM by kenny blankenship
like it's failed to do for the last few years.
I sure hope that rank and file Democratic rep.s take that message to heart and support the prosecution minded committee leaders in their efforts to de-Nazify Washington DC. The leadership will need party unity to carry out thorough investigations because they will take time and cause ungodly screaming and whining from Refucklicans--but the voters are demanding an accounting and a cleanup and we can't expect to be rewarded as a party in 2008 unless we come together and DELIVER.

17. Yea, ....

When the electorate is promised this vague notion of morality, the Repukes win, but when Dems promise actual concrete dictates of morality (peace, honesty, integrity, helping the poor, providing health care and education) then the Dems win. I want this goddamn corporate oligarchy shutdown and our drive for global hegemony curtailed. I want policy of peace, an improved status in the world, help for the poor, fairness for the working man, protection for the environment, power for the powerless, understanding and not abstinence from science, concern for all the peoples of the world….I want this to be a nation that CAN BE the beacon to the world and champions and respects all people and not just the powerful few who have had bought and paid for access to our nations bounty for 6 years now.

The Time is now…out with these fucking pigs.

21. To someone outside Orange County
It sounds like you don't know how to spell.

Once the thread goes beyons... oh let's say 10,000 entries...

nobody gets the joke anymore.

But if there are MORONS around? You can bet your butt
that they stand on BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE.

You can't understand how to prevail if you are deluded.

And thinking our side is right ALL THE TIME is a delusion.

5. Hmmm... We won the exit polls in 2000 and 2004 also
but remember Karl Rove has THE numbers. So if we lose again I want to hear the media finally call a fucking spade a spade and blame it on Voter fraud outright and stop bullshitting to blame supposedly "faulty exit poll numbers".

I don't want to get my hopes up over exit polls like in 2004 if the mavchines and robocalls have an impact.

9. Corruption BAD? Corruption is like mother's milk for Republicans!
What d'ya mean it's bad for them? Hell, corruption is a plank in their platform, isn't it? For as long as I've been around, what's-in-it-for-me? has clearly been an integral part of their official ideology: it's an intrinsic mechanism of the rich getting richer and the poor getting screwed. Which is what they're all about. Corruption BAD?

15. exactly - being corrupt is obviously not a fault to them
but getting caught is. No wonder they hate the media, and no wonder if seems to them the media is liberally biased - maybe if they stop breaking laws and being slimy, the media will go back to reporting on killer bees and sharks and such....

MSM's conspiracy of silence didn't work.

For all their effort avoiding in-depth coverage of Abramoff, the Marianas, MZM, and on and on and on -- over a hundred affairs that would in years past be scandals.

For all their talking heads distracting us with missing blondes, serial killers, and force-feeding us the "Dems do it too" meme...

...the message still got through.

Fuck you Clear Channel, Fuck you Time Warner, Fuck you Viacom.

Fuck off. We're not computers you can program to do your bidding.

And we know you'll ramp up efforts to control social networking sites now that your noise machine has been defeated. We'll be waiting. We will defend.

since they have so few...

And since there is not a single black Republican congressman, they have to go to Watts just to make Republicans look like a "big tent" party (which they love to pose as all the time...

Carville says he's surprised corruption came before Iraq.
Bloviating Bill Bennett says blah blah blah not really anything.
Now "A recent run of bad dudes in the repug party."
No shit. Just 'bad luck', I guess. putz
Begalla says repugs should be concerned. (duh)
J.C.Watts says corruption is a concern but that may not bode well for Dems because the ones who were caught with their hands in the cookie jar all stepped down.
Sure, fella. They all got caught and left so...where's the problem?
