I worked the polls at the Centre Ridge precinct today. At 5:00 1003 votes had been cast...
I just looked it up and in 2002 there were 933 total for this precinct. Just got off the phone with my wife and she is 30th in line at 6:45...
Don't know what this means exactly...clearly turnout is higher...don't know if that is voter interest or demographic change.

Couldn't believe how many people were there. My husband always votes in that timeframe and said it was unusually busy. I was working to get the marriage amendment voted down. Amazing how many folks were voting NO.

in Chesterfiled County which is a republic (I'll add the "an" when they add the "ic" on Democrat)suburb of Richmond I asked the election official whom I hapen to know how turn out was and she said it was very, very busy up until 2:00 when I voted. When I drove by at 5:30 the parking lot was packed. We finally got rid the punch cards this years and had optical scan.
