The official Cascadian "How I voted" post
Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 07:05 PM by Cascadian
Not that any of you would care but I thought I would post this anyway.

I voted absentee, as how it is in all elections in Spokane County, Washington. This is just a partial list of who got my vote.

SENATE: Maria Cantwell (D)

CONGRESS (Wa 5th Dist): Peter Goldmark (D)

STATE LEGISLATURE Pos 1: Alex Wood (D)

STATE LEGISLATURE Pos 2: Timm Ormsby (D)

SPOKANE COUNTY COMMISSIONER Dist 3: Bonnie Mager (D)

Maria Cantwell, despite her political mistep in regards to Iraq, got my vote. Peter Goldmark got my vote because the congresswoman who represents Spokane and Eastern Washington Cathy McMorris is a Bush crony and she was responsible for cutting funds to the Veteran's Administration. How disgraceful. Also, she wants the U.S. to "stay the course" in Iraq. She makes me miss Jim McDermott as my congressperson.

And of course to offset the conservative voters in Spokane County, all of my candidates with some fuzzy exceptions in regards to judges were Democrats.

So I did my duty until the next elections.

John

1. I care!
My parents live in Pullman. I was there over the weekend and did some sign waving with my mom and my 3 and 5 year old girls. Wendy Goldmark drove by and gave a nice shout out. I sure hope he can pull it off, best candidate since Foley I think.

I can imagine the looks on the righties' faces if Goldmark pulls it off. He is probably the best candidate to come out of the 5th since Tom Foley. I really hope he wins.

For the benefit of those who don't know who Peter Goldmark is, here is his website.

He is exactly what the Democratic Party needs in rural Washington and rural America.
