70-72% Turnout in Connecticut
70-72% Turnout in Connecticut
by Matt Stoller, Tue Nov 07, 2006 at 06:57:05 PM EST

I was out poll standing at a school in Meriden for a few hours, and the turnout was steady. I spent some time talking to a nice Joe Lieberman volunteers, an obese woman. I offered her some banana nut bread, and she said "No, I'm diabetic. And besides, I have donuts in the car."

Also she was very antiwar. Go figure.

The Secretary of State's office is projecting 70% turnout, and in such a case it's impossible to know what's going on. Doug Schwartz at Quinnipiac should put out a lot of statements about how this race would shape up, and his credibility and that of his university are on the line.

I expect the Democrats to take the House and the Senate. This race is shaping up to be really interesting. If you haven't voted yet, get to the polls.

3. WOW!
The woman who took my ID said she was really busy all day. I voted at 2:30 p.m. here in CT.
Looked like a lot of names were crossed off on the woman's sheet.

:bounce:

6. Just wanted to ask, where is the best place in Conn to get the results as they come out.
I am looking for the official results, but your sec of State's office does not look like they are set up for it. Could you also take screenshots of the Conn results, Especially the Senate and districts 2 & 4. PM them to Autorank!
Thanks!

8. Wouldn't that be rich, to see Lieberman out on his ass?
Can you imagine his tortured effort at a concession speech? Ha ha!

9. CT is highly educated
as a state.

This will indeed be a lot more interesting than I originally thought. I have hope for Ned!
