Ijust received this emergency message from MoveOn.
Please—this is an all-hands on deck moment if there ever was one. We can make this the greatest progressive victory in a generation, but we're running out of time.

We have 1 hour left 'til polls close in most of our target districts. We've already busted through our goals, but this isn't about goals—it's about winning the election. And we've still got 400,000 folks in these key districts who we haven't reached yet—can you hop online and make some calls right now?

http://pol.moveon.org/nov06/gotv?id=9461-3013288-Rci764u53m_8cn.NPcmpPA&t=1

Some of our districts are in the West—so you can keep calling until 11 PM EST/8 PM PST. But for a bunch of the very closest races—districts we'recounting on—we only have an hour or two left.

Whatever you're doing, if you can spare a few minutes, please call some voters. One, five, ten years from now you won't remember whatever you put off, but you WILL remember that you helped turn this country around.

Please call now:

We can do this.

Election Day, 2006

P.S. Some folks have asked for more info about the voter intimidation I reported earlier. The Democratic party put some info together here: http://www.dccc.org/news/dirty_tricks_release/ and we're posting everything we hear online here: http://www.protectourvotes.org

I'm going to help, and I thought maybe some of you could too. 400,000 calls is a lot to make in a short time. BTW, MoveOn told me all calls would be placed to either Dems or those known to be leaning Dem. Thanks

1. I just spoke to my sister in CA. Don't mean to be a buzz kill,
but she bitched and moaned about all the political calls she's received, though did brag that 'Clint' had called numerous times (I get the stepford wife:eyes: ).
I wonder when people reach a saturation point, is it too much?

seriously, I voted at 7:00am this morning. I'm done and I'm really annoyed by these calls.

This is the 7th call I have received, all from different persons, in the last few days. I am grateful for all of the work of volunteers and I hope these calls work with other voters.

3. OK! Sorry, I was just trying to help. I don't want to piss anyone off,
I just want to take back the majority in both houses so badly, and force ShrubCo to recognize he's NOT A KING!!!!

8. I'm not angry. Iwas just very scared, mostly because of the damn voting machines.
I must say I'm feeling much better since they're projecting a Senate win for the Dems in Pa. and Ohio! Life is looking MUCH BETTER NOW!

4. calling
I did calling in the past but now have declined to do calling. I hate to get unsolicited calls from strangers. Its really intrusive IMHO. We have to figure out a better way than sending people tons of mail and annoying them with telephone calls at home.
