1. Extremely early, less than 1%, Ford up by 700 votes
Really haven't gotten any decent amount of returns yet.

If you take any stock in weather affecting turnout, the eastern half of the state (Knoxville, Chattanooga areas) got hammered today with rain. Middle Tennessee (Nashville) was grey and light rain off and on. West Tennessee (Memphis area) was clear all day.

The way that breaks in this state:
East: more Republican
West: more Democrat
Middle: mixed bag.

2. Were there any reliable pre-election polls?

3. Well...
depends on whether you think Rasmussen and Gallup are reliable. Both had Corker up by 3-4%, both within the margin of error, and both trending toward Ford (both had 8-9% leads for Corker a week or so before).

4. The rain doesn't seem tohave an effect
I'm in Chattanooga and it poured majority all day and my mother was talking with the poll workers while we were waiting in line and they said they've had a really big turn out and the rain hasn't kept people away. Usually when I've gone to vote (this is my third time) and there was really never anybody there and today there was a good bit line.
