It's starting to look pretty damned good for us in the Senate!
With the Chafee defeat, it looks like we COULD have a 51st Democratic Senator this year.

We have 27 Democratic Senators who are not up for re-election this year. We have 11 seats that are considered safe (CA,NM,ND,WI,FL,WV,DE,NY,VT,MA,HI). This brings us to 38 seats (including Sanders). The networks have called MN, MI, OH, PA, MD, NH, CT, and now RI. That makes 46. We are expected to win WA, MT, NE, which brings us up to 49 Senators. We now need to win two of three in MO, TN, and VA. That's what the experts told us all along. Things don't look so good in TN right now, so it boils down to us needing BOTH MO and VA, and I think we're doing pretty good in both.

Winning those two gives us 51 Senators, assuming that Lieberman continues to vote with the Democrats. He could even have veto power over our leader.

2. I voted McCaskill...
Still what I would call "too early to call" in Missouri right now, but dammit, why would she be down by almost 10 points!?!

3. Yeah, I don't get McCaskill being down so far...
unless all the early returns are coming out of the rural areas...it's WAY off the polls leading up to the election, that's for sure.

4. You're in District 1, aren't you?
If so, I envy you, I'm in District 2, voted for Weber, I really am hoping a late upset will occur to unseat Akins, that fucking racist hatemonger, but Weber is already down by almost 20 points, which REALLY sucks.

6. Clay is kickass, really wish I had him as my Congressman, but I'll settle...
for Weber over Akins, any day of the week.

9. From what I've seen, early returns are mostly from R strongholds
like Barry, Greene, and Barton counties in SW MO. St. Louis City shows only a few precincts so far, and they are overwhelmingly going for McCaskill.

The lead is shrinking.
