We democrats are still too weak to make changes were it matters, and too poor to get out the vote on any given election.

1. It tells us nothing more
than CT likes its incumbent senator, and TN is a very conservative state, with a heavily racist element.

2. Lieberman's case is different from Fords...Lieberwhore
pulled a majority of Repug votes...he abandoned the Dem party when * came into office...

Ford is in a very racist state fighting against years of bigotry even though he is a conservative Dem

3. I just read on another site that Leiberman did NOT win .... also, if it ends up he does, i don't
think it means we are too weak - i think it means Leiberman is too right wing and the republicans couldn't resist voting for a wolf in sheeps clothing

5. It means nothing
they're from two states as different as day and night. You're comparing apples and oranges.

6. how many times do you see the loser of a primary stay in the
race anyway and run as a party of one (CT for Lieberman for example, which is how it was listed on the ballot i voted on today) against the actual winner with the complete backing of the opposition party who openly supported him?

7. Lieberman/Lamont race tells us there are a SHITLOAD of people in CT willing to vote DEM
Ford's race tells us that given two anti-choice candidates, one white and one black, they will choose the white one.

That is all. Ford and Lieberman are not good Democrats. Ford disgusts me frankly. So, I wouldn't read too much into it other than the old saying - if someone wants to vote for Repuke or Repuke Light, they will choose full strength.

Lesson? We need to field better candidates and be much more careful about who we call our friends.

9. Ford could have run light blue or deep blue in Tennessee and it would't matter...

10. Don't give up yet on Ford
Shelby County is just now beginning to come in. It's a miracle Ford did as well as he did in East Tennessee; Shelby COunty / Memphis is where he's going to pick up votes. Don't break out the bubbly yet, but it's not necessarily over.

13. Two different states...apples...oranges...
The people of CT chose LIEberman and will now have to deal with the shame. Reid better not play nice with him.

As for Ford, he's a DINO imho...I wish someone else had run in TN.

14. Lieberman had to do with the GOP and Israel...it was as much a ratification of the
power of AIPAC to make Kings as anything else. Ford was about down home racism

15. Lamont wasn't viewed as friendly enough to Israel. Shmuel...
...Rosner's group at Ha'Aretz was only giving Lamont a 5.5 out of 10. Interestingly, though I wasn't following it very closely, Lamont apparently answered all the "right questions" and made all the "right votes" to come off as friendly to Israel.

Unfortunately, Lieberman is a practicing Jew and Lamont is a Christian. Though Lamont has some Jewish roots, he wasn't seen as "Jewish enough" to best Lieberman.

Anyway, Shmuel Rosner over at Ha'aretz has a continuing series on scoring candidates in America so the Israel-firsters will know who to vote for, given a range of different candidates. How much attention is paid to it by Diasporic American Jews is uncertain, but it does make for some interesting (albeit speculative) reading.
