The Northeast Is Now The Anti-South
In 94 we got clobbered in the South.

In 06 the GOP got clobbered in the Northeast.

It looks like 08 will be a battle in the mountain states to see which way the country goes.

8. We're getting there....
The Ohio and Indiana results now indicate there's an unbroken blue chain from the Northeast through the entire Great Lakes region.

3. One problem with that
An awful lot of people out here in the heartland just don't care about the Northeast. I'm not defending anyone's position, I'm just stating a fact. I am a Midwesterner and I see and hear this all the time. The Dems work isn't done, the rest of the country must be won over.

4. More like the entire north has become the anti-south
NE has always been blue but R inroads into IN and OH are burned.

7. Interesting
It looks like 08 will be a battle in the mountain states to see which way the country goes.

That could be an interesting little civil war among the Pubbies -- the mountain states are dominated by the libertarian wing of the GOP coalition (disdainful of government programs including social-conservative social engineering) while the south is dominated by the Talibornagains (who want to run the government and mold the populace into the New Christian Man).
