Did Ford run as too much of a Republican?
Sorry he went down, but he seemed to run as a good centrist Republican...was that a mistake, or was Tennessee too conservaitive?

3.  Tenn. is a racist state
It's a testament to him he got as close as he did. He'll be back. Some on DU might not like that, but he will.

7. Tennessee is that conservative.
He had to at least sound like a republican to get the attention of the religious right-wingers. He got a lot to listen who wouldn't have heard otherwise.

But, IMHO, he lost because of nasty GOP campaigning, and because all the Christian conservatives got out to save marriage from those terrible homosexuals! "And while I'm here in the voting booth helping save marriage, I may as well vote for that nice Corker fellow."

9. I think he has a future, too.
Watching his concession speech, he's classy. But, c'mon. is he running for a minister? Too much religion, if he's into being normal (a single guy who goes to a Playboy Club) what's up with this...I don't like hypocrites in our Party, is this what it takes to be a Senator from Tennessee?

11. TN is too conservative & racist
Ford Jr. got support from Democrats and independents. It's just the fanatic rethugs that roam the state.

13. I think he garnered the votes he did in TN BECAUSE he ran
as a conservative. His family legacy drug him down more than anthing, imho.
