State House Speaker Craig DeRoche, R-Novi, said it appeared Tuesday’s elections had resulted in Democrats winning control of the Michigan House of Representatives for the first time in eight years.

DeRoche said outcomes in particular seats remained in flux, but it appeared Republicans would have between 52 to 54 seats in the 110-seat House – short of the 56 needed for a majority. Republicans presently control the House 58-49 with three vacancies.

1. EXCELLENT!!
We need to control the states to affect future elections nationally. Repubs have screwed us in 2000, 2002, and 2004 by controlling the states and thus the SOS's who count the votes. This is fantastic news!
