So if it's confirmed we win both houses
Who here thinks we should "change the tone" and work with Republicans - and who thinks they deserve payback for the last 12 years?

1. The only "payback" should be a major house cleaning
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 10:01 AM by slackmaster
Go after every corrupt member of the House and the Senate.

The bad apples need to be exposed, and ousted or jailed or both

11. Exactly right
Fuck * and his bible-thumping losers. Mow him and all the rest of the them down.
I'm calling for impeachment right now. I demand a circus...with extra bread.

3. "We" don't have enough muscle
Even if "we" wanted to, we don't have large enough majorities to "pay back" (the Republicans) "for the last 12 years."

This should not be about "payback" it should be about the Democrats showing that they can run the country competently, like mature adults.

10. My Thoughts Exactly
The "truth" is always looked at as liberal. Let's be our true selves and do things honestly and appropriately!

... who will stand for what their constituents sent them to do, rather than capitulating to polls, corporate money, or BFEE fear tactics.

Now's their chance to set the stage for '08 and make it a cakewalk for whoever the Dem Presidential nominee is.

5. Neither
we need to give the appearance of working with the Republicans. The Republicans will find they don't have a monopoly on that tactic.

7. No payback
That is not what the people voted for. They voted for a new direction. War in Iraq, The huge deficit, corruption ect. So let our leaders give the people what they want or they will vote them out as easily as they voted them in.

8. I think
The voters punished them enough. If a crime was committed it should be prosecuted, but democrats really need to get a lot of shit done or there will be another landslide in 4 years. It's not going to be easy with MSM attacking them at every step.

9. Take leadership. Payback sounds childish,
while changing tone sounds spineless. It's time to develop a spine, a voice for change that has been stifled for so many years that the Democrats forgot what they're supposed to stand for.

13. There is NO WORKING with the RW or the neocons as THEIR WAY.....
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 10:44 AM by Double T
is the ONLY WAY. I am hopeful that the moderate Republicans will work with 'US' for positive change that includes ALL people, NOT just the filthy rich and the corrupt corporations. 'Payback' is a waste of time and energy and NOTHING GOOD will ever come of IT.
