The Dems must cut the funding of the war in Iraq but will they do it? |
|
As far as I know, the congress has the power of the purse. In that they can vote to not fund the war, and the President must withdraw the troops, or abandon them.
The people have spoken, will the Democrats have the guts to fight the media and the White House and do what they must?

With ending this no-bid bullshit and starting to scrutinize just how much war profiteering has taken place...expose it, root it out, and show the people just how much money some have made on the backs of this war (and the troops) while providing little essential support to the troops.
War profiteering should be a felony.

and frequently. His goal will be to make them take one of 2 polarized positions. Either to oppose the war outright and call for its immediate cessation, or to become mired with him in supporting the war's goals--maintaining continuity with the puppet gov't, and our permanent military presence in Iraq--through frequent appropriations votes to continue the war. All the Bushlerites understand is the politics of polarization. They're not going to stop just because they lost Congress. He will probably become MORE like George the Third, acting without Parliament, rather than less.

They've made it clear that they're not going with that approach.
