Another thing to consider, as Virginia solidifies...
It does seem we'll take the senate now. However, in such power-shifting elections, there is always talk of senators and/or congressman switching parties. Will it happen? And will it help us or hurt us? Who can we expect will flip?

4. I think he means either Republicans switching sides like
Campbell and Shelby in 1994. What I am concerned about is Lieberman switching sides, aligning himself with the R's after all of our hard fought victories for the Senate.

7. That would make it 50-50 and Cheney would break ties.
Not a good thing.

2. It seems that the switching usually happens with switches from the loser to the winner.
So if anything, I'd bet we see a moderate Repub or two flip to our side.

3. Why would a Democrat do that?
If a Dem switched they would lose any power position they would have. Now perhaps a moderate Republican could switch to gain leverage or a power position. I suppose that would be in the realm of possibility.

8. Yes it would. 50-50 after all is said and done and Darth Cheney would
break the ties.
