4. Even though Republicans were most responsible for their own demise
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 05:00 PM by WatchWhatISay
We were often in a position to captialize on it BECAUSE we had good candidates in place to take advantage of thier arrogance/hypocrisy/corruption.

Even here in Texa where there was a lot less good news yesterday than we had good candidates who lost, Nick Lampson was in there waiting to take advantage of Tom DeLay's demise, and was able to win in a red area.

14. Without the state organizations and good candidates, we couldn't
have taken advantage of the opportunities that showed up.

It's not just that sometimes "Opportunity Knocks!"

It's that you have to be prepared to answer the door when it does.

And, thanks to Howard Dean's 50-state strategy, we were prepared to answer the door.

2. Both he and Emanuel delivered a win.
I usually take what the MSM says or does not say with a grain of salt.

6. Not from the MSM. Dean disserves great credit. So does Kerry. But the MSM

thinks it is just fine to have democrats dysfunctional.

9. Both CNN and MS/NBC mentioned it last night.
As things became evident that no Repuke was safe, and in particular when KS-2 came in for Dem Nancy Boyda, the 50-state strategy was specifically mentioned.

11. I think he helped in Colorado.
The El Paso County Dems are no longer voiceless and invisible. We seem to have been inspired by "the little engine that could". We have Kept our Dem state representative and now have a Dem state senator.

20. Since he wasn't the Rahm and the DLC's hand-picked
Democratic Party Chairman, the answer is no, the 50 State strategy and Howard Dean will not get any credit.

How dare the grassroots go against the DLC.

21. Congratulations to Rahm Emanuel... as Nancy Pelosi said...
Edited on Thu Nov-09-06 08:17 AM by wyldwolf
"Let's hear it for Rahm Emanuel. He did a great job masterminding our strategy, which is bearing fruit tonight." Rep. Nancy Pelosi

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-0611080085nov08,1,2440897.story?coll=chi-newsnationworld-hed

"Rahm Emanuel is a very ambitious person...There's no question that with the election, he's picked up a lot of political clout." --- Rep. Charles Rangel

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/11/08/AR2006110802239.html

Karl Rove fancies himself a second iteration of Mark Hanna, architect of the Republican ascendancy secured by William McKinley's 1896 election. In Emanuel, Democrats may have found another Jim Farley, the political mechanic who kept FDR's potentially discordant coalition running smoothly through the 1930s.

22. Of course, they will not. He should, no question about that.
But the media have decided that we won because we fielded candidates who were moderates, and this does not go with the myth that Dean is a big bad liberal.
