Tim Walz, who defeated the Republican incumbent in MN-01
was interviewed by Al Franken earlier.

He is a high school teacher who, two years ago, when Bush visited Mankato - first time since Truman did - took his class to a Bush rally.

But, of course, it was by invitation only to party loyalists and the students who were actively Democratic were taken away. Finally he was allowed to enter the place - with escort.

He was so mad that he started working on the Kerry campaign.

At the end he chuckled and told Franken: they (the Bushies) would have been better off letting me enter that rally..

4. The proper way to do an invitation only event ...
...is to mail cards with people's names on them, and tell them to bring the cards to the event.

It's not the Bush/Lieberman style of giving out tickets or issuing a general invitation, and then rejecting people who don't pass the loyalty test.
