She is one courageous American and she should have won.

1. That Disgusts Me Also
And the fact jean schmidt won in Ohio, and Reynolds in NY.

I don't like either of them, but I guess you can't have everything.

Mr. Skinner's wife also lost.

6. Me, too
I lived in that district for about 10 years. Very snobby and a fairly good portion of it is wealthy.

A friend who supports the Iraq war and is a solid repuke voted for Roscam. Told her today I thought she was being hypocritical and if she supports bush so much and his Iraq invasion she should enlist.

After Tammy lost this race, that she earned with her service in Iraq, I just couldn't keep my mouth shut anymore.

Maybe after this I have a former friend.

8. Oh, no! I'm just now checking in
I had to go to a seminar today, so had to go to bed and arise early, then got stuck in a seminar all day. I'm just now catching up.

This is very, very sad. I don't understand it.

9. It saddens me too.
We need more people who have had first hand experience to what war is like especially this mess that's in Iraq right now. I hope it will not be the last we hear of Tammy Duckworth. Her voice can still be heard in other avenues of this and other issues.

15. Strongly agree - without exception.
Tammy is a real hero. A brave woman - afraid of nobody!

Her courage is an inspiration to millions of people.

The fact that she didn't win breaks my heart.

16. Ford and Lamont also
Ford's hurts a lot just because i followed him more and saw what a great job he did. and then for it to end because of racism.

Lamont for obvious reasons. he deserves credit for helping bring attention to Iraq by beating Lieberman in the Primary. the whores were forced to report on it.

Duckworth is from a VERY right wing district and it was always going to be tough. but she did well. the VFW again showed their partisan leanings by not supporting her. at the very least they should not have endorsed at all.

17. Are you sure she didn't win? what is basis for thinking she lost?
There was a huge amount of manipulation and fraud out there again in many places,
some congression seats were stolen by manipulation of electronic machines, such as the one in Sarasota Florida. Have they audited this one yet?

Christine Jennings, A Dem far ahead in the polls found her votes disappearing into electronic machines. So how do they do a recount with no paper trail?

In FL, Electronic Voting Shortfall Raises Eyebrows
By Paul Kiel - November 8, 2006, 11:03 AM
A recount battle is brewing, fittingly, in Katherine Harris' old seat, where a voting shortfall on buggy electronic voting machines is calling the election results into doubt.
From The Herald Tribune:
Republican Vern Buchanan was clinging to a 368-vote edge over Democrat Christine Jennings for the 13th Congressional District early this morning.
Although Buchanan declared victory just before 1 a.m., the razor-thin margin kept Jennings from conceding defeat and will generate an automatic recount....
The results were loaded with controversy as nearly 13 percent of all ballots cast in Sarasota didn’t include a choice for Congress. That difference, and scattered reports of difficulty finding the race on Sarasota’s touchscreen ballots, raised concerns about under votes in the race.
Supervisor of Elections Kathy Dent couldn’t explain why 8,000 to 10,000 fewer people voted in the congressional race than in other high-profile races for governor, attorney general or U.S. Senate. But she said nothing mechanical went wrong with the county’s $4.7 million touchscreen voting machine system....
Throughout the day voters complained that touchscreen voting machines were not registering votes for Jennings properly. Jennings campaign held a midday press conference to warn the problem was widespread....
Already Democrats were calling in lawyers from the Democratic National Committee to weigh in on the potential voting issues....
In Sarasota County, with all but one precinct reporting, 87,797 people voted for Bill Nelson, Katherine Harris or another candidate for U.S. Senate. In the governor race between Charlie Crist and Jim Davis, 87,678 county resident voted.
Only 76,549 voted for Jennings or Buchanan. In comparison, about 3,000 more people voted in the Sarasota Public Hospital Board election.
But a similar undervote was not recorded in other counties that voted in the District 13 race.
