Raise a Glass to those who lost last night!!!!!
We are celebrating many victories across the country but remember those who fought the good fight but fell short. I'm not talking about our GOP opponents but those men and women who threw there hats in the ring to try to unseat long-standing incumbents who everyone said could not be beat. All of those brave men and women who took on a GOP giant and fell short are owed our allegiance. For every campaigner that these folk put on the street- the GOP had to match. For every dime we were able to raise- the GOP had to ante up. We won last night because of a great group effort!!! The candidates who fell short last night were as much a part of the revolution as those who won. You deserve our appreciation and I want to scream THANK YOU!!!!!!

17. Another benefit of all of these efforts is we now have a first rate
"Get Out the Vote" machine. Lets keep it well oiled through '08. This was more then an election, is was our re-introduction to the electorate and an opportunity to build momentum.

The revoultion was begun in 2006, its up to us when it will end.

3. Wellstone -> "Lose Forward" - the first time out you build a
campaign, name recognition, a team who will work the ground. Then the second time you run, you WIN!

There were many excellent candidates who did not win -- I pray they will "lose forward"...

15. What a wonderful sentiment and so true
The old saying used to be that a good candidate never lost a race. I'm not sure when that truism was applicable, but it certainly doesn't hold water these days.

Losing a race isn't a measure of a candidate's skills or electability. Sometimes its a measure of the challenge a candidate takes on - running in races where Dems have never won or taking on a popular incumbent (like my hero, Sherrod Brown did).

Failing is a learning experience when it comes to running for office.

9. Ned Lamont
On AA this afternoon they said the repukes spent $10M defeating Lamont. That money could have gone so many other districts/races, but it didn't. Thank you Ned Lamont for that -- and so much more.

Charlie Brown came close to unseating Rep. John Doolittle, and Dr. Bill Durston fought the good fight against Rep. Dan Lungren. My deepest gratitude to both of these fine Democrats! -- Wanet
