Slave Labor Products From Latin America Used By Major Corporations - 11/08/06

By Doug Cunningham

According to a report by Bloomberg Latin American slave labor makes pig iron used in steel by major multinational companies like Toyota, GM, Nissan and Ford. The report quotes a labor inspector in Brazil saying that products produced by this slave labor is used in end products made by Whirlpool, Kohler, and Anderson windows among others. These companies use pig iron produced by National Material Trading Company and that company allegedly uses slave labor. Ford has suspended it’s purchases from the company and other companies are investigating the reported use of slave labor.
