They remained classy, but didn't take any BS from Allen's camp at all. His ads were very good--gave voters a good reason to support him--while his idiotic but well-financed opponent tried every false smear he could. I am so excited about the next 2 years. The dems have a great opportunity here to try to define ourselves for the first time in the 21st century. This is the moment to bring to the forefront the progressive vision & introduce it to the American people - we can try to shape the agenda to an extent and that agenda should be: Iraq, voting reform, prescription drug reform, energy independence, healthcare, stem cells, tax reform (even if Bush vetoes stuff, we can bring these issues on the national radar) etc.

Let's get the ball rolling... this election is a gift to dems because voters voted against the national mood & not necessarily FOR the progressive vision. This is the time to DEFINE THE DEMOCRATIC ALTERNATIVE! So that next time people actually vote FOR the Democratic/progressive principles.
