Who regretted not impeaching Reagan??
I remember hearing an author of one of the recent books saying that he really regretted that they did not bring articles of impeachment against Reagan for his part in Iran Contra. By the time it was apparent that he was responsible, his Alzheimer's was already pretty far advanced and no one had the heart to put him through the ordeal of a trial. Problem is that by sparing him the impeachment, they set a precedent that "If the president does it, it is legal". This encouraged Bushco to gut the constitution etc etc..

Could it have been John Dean?? I cant remember..

Maybe that author should have a little talk with Nancy Pelosi..

1. Well, I did
But I don't know who said it. I know Daniel Ellsberg regretted not releasing the Pentagon Papers earlier, and therefore not saving a lot of lives.

2. Maybe it was Ellsberg
Will look it up thanks for the tip. Might make sense to summarize his arguements for Nancy Pelosi.

3. Regan said that he didn't know anything & people believed him.
Why impeach an idiot who didn't know anything?

6. Reagan got away with murder at least twice.
One was when the space shuttle was overhead during KAL-007 (get it, 007?) flew over the Soviet Union. Our shuttle were on military missions back then and a report from Britain said the US got a great idea of how the Soviets would defend themselves if invaded. There were too many cat and mouse plane fights and those poor people got caught trapped in the middle of another one.

The other was when we lost about 250 marines in a suicide bombing mission in I think Lebanon. Rather than answer questions as to how this could have happened, Reagan demagogicly invaded Grenada within 48 hours and the whole nation virtually forgot about anything else.

Of course the October surprise should have been investigated too.
