How Did Women Do Yesterday?
lets not look at party affiliation, but do we have more or fewer women in the House, the Senate, the Governorships, etc.

Does anyone have these statistics?

I am asking about gender only. If a progressive pro-choice male defeated a Christian Coalition woman, that is one less woman in office. In that case, it would be a good thing, but still indicate fewer women.

How did female candidates do?

6.  16 seats held by women in the senate I believe
In Congress where Pelosi will be the speaker (can't believe it myself) there are many more women, somewhere around 70 I believe depending on the final outcome of the 10 remaining contested districts.

5. Some stats here
http://journalism.berkeley.edu/ngno/stories/028209.html

<snip>

Sixteen women will serve in the Senate, the highest ever recorded, according to the Center for American Women and Politics Director Debbie Walsh. This includes three who won office on Tuesday.

At least 70 women will be in the House, with 10 newly elected representatives and five races still too close to call, including three between women. Nine women will become governors in states from Alabama to Connecticut, tying a 2004 record. Five are incumbents.
