Read this very carefully.

We can deal with having Dick Cheney as President for only one year. That's how long he'll be in office once Bush is impeached. Tops.

And he'll spend the majority of that time running for election to a full term with a bad heart against a more robust and healthy Clinton, Gore, Obama, or Feingold.

Plus, Cheney's own approval is currently hovering at 18%.

He'll be vulnerable. And paralyzed.

And easy pickings.

Tell Nancy Pelosi to impeach Bush. Let Cheney stew in the White House as an impotent figurehead, neutralized by a Democratic Congress. Then climb on for the big Democratic win in the 2008 Presidential election.

1. Eh, when your approval rating is THAT low, you declare martial law.
Cheney's moment has passed. He's been OVERRIDDEN. Why do you think he went huntin' with Mary on election day? He KNEW this shit was coming. He KNEW BUSH ONE and Scowcroft are the new Bush Two advisors. He's now like Bush One claimed to be under Reagan--totally, completely, OUT OF THE LOOP.

I say Cheney resigns before Bush ever gets impeached. That's just my take, but I see that as way more likely.

3. I'd be perfectly happy with a Cheney resignation
It would certainly save us time and money. Main thing is to cut off the head of the snake.

8. Well, he IS cut off. And just figure that all decisions are coming from
Brent Scowcroft on a daily basis, with input from Jim Baker.

It's not ideal, but at least the world won't blow up. Scowcroft comes off as fucking Churchill at war compared to Cheney, who comes off like that whackjob riding the missile in Doctor Strangelove!

Bill Clinton built a bridge to the 21st Century. Fucking Monkey burnt the bridge, and now is floating backwards down the river to 1989, hoping that PAW can rescue him before he goes over the goddamn falls!

Jesus!!!!

2. What makes you think the chimp
would be removed from office? Impeachment is not the same as removal, not enough votes in the Senate to accomplish this.

4. Check the news again
We. Just. Took. Control. Of. The. Senate.

With Democrats in the driver's seat, maybe we can negotiate a deal with more moderate Republicans to seal an impeachment deal to remove El Diablo from office.

9. I think that's a stretch, especially
if all it accomplishes is putting Dick in charge.

11. But for how long?
Cheney has stated that he does not want to run in '08. Even if he changes his mind, he'll be running with a bad heart. And he'll be in the Oval Office for one year, tops.

Impeachment is not only doable, it's imperative.

13. A majority in the Senate won't do it. A 2/3 majority is required

for conviction and we don't have it.

Do you want Bush to be able to say that he was found NOT GUILTY in the Senate? Because that's what will happen if we impeach without 67 votes for conviction.

5. Cheney would never run for another term. He has no reason to.
He would have had 7 years as VP and 1 as Pres. He would simply quite public office. He has said that he has no intention of running in 08 many times.

10. Boom! Problem solved...
With McCain flip-flopping on torture, if he gets the GOP nomination in '08, we'll be sitting pretty.

Impeach, impeach, impeach.

7. I am as contemptious of * and his neo-con fascist bastard masters as the next sentient human...
BUT
There are bigger fish to fry out of the gate, IMO.
Number one is disenfranchisement , including robo-calls, Diebold, and the rest.
* can't run for another term.
The House and senate Democratic majorities (:woohoo:) should focus on election and voter issues and leveling the playing field, while they still can.

12. Leaving Cheney in accomplishes nothing, other than shaming Bush.
Don't get me wrong, shaming Bush and punishing him is certainly worthwile.

But if Cheney becomes President, he keeps all the rethugs around, if he wants to. Rice, Negroponte, and all the idiot cabinet officers, WH staff etc.

So we take a big risk and accomplish very little.
