What about some love for Sen. Evan Bayh?
He deserves a great deal of credit for securing 3 Democratic wins in Indiana!! Indiana is as red as red gets. That was a HUGE deal to flip 3 red seats to us. Bayh worked his tail off to get those Dems elected. He's definitely a skilled politician and knows his state inside and out. He would actually carry Indiana in 2008 if he were the nominee.

1. Yet, as Chuck Todd pointed out....
Bayh sat on his warchest. He is accumulating money in millions (for 2008), and didn't give much to candidates outside of Indiana. Think about someone like Larry Kissell in NC who might have won easily if he had money to run enough campaign ads.

I give him credit for the 3 seats in Indiana, but as part of the national effort, Bayh could've done much more, especially since he wants to be the leader of the Democratic party.

3. I beg to differ.
He loaned us a staffer to organize our headquarters. Granted we are a small county in Iowa, but this young man was exeptional. He kept our office organized and open 12 hours a day. Our county went to the dems 60 to 40. I would guess maybe he's done this for others with no credit?

I really don't know if this is the norm or not.

4. Well at least he has an excuse for sitting on his warchest

What about the Dems that are NOT running for president and not donating shit?! There are Dems that are out there running unopposed that didn't send any money. At least Bayh is trying to save up money for a presidential run. There are other Dems that deserve more scorn than him.

And those 3 seats in Indiana are HUGE! I don't understand how someone can discount that. Those seats were all in rural areas too.

5. I'll give him love--I'd like to see him as a VP candidate in '08
I think he'd team well with Wesley Clark, and thus lock up both the South and the Midwest. Helloooooooooo, White House.

6. Oh Yeah...I'm way ahead of you.
He already has this Hoosier gal's love. He would make an excellent candidate... that is if he can hang with the pace.
