I have some questions ... |
|
Does the new Congress have the power to repeal some of Bush's most odious legislation, such as the Bills allowing torture, and the suspension of habeas corpus?
And secondly, would they do it?

3. But a 60% majority vote of the Senate could overturn the veto? |
|
So it could be done with the support of moderate Republicans?

4. Not alone. Bush has to sign off on it. We don't have enough to overturn a veto. nt |

By vetoing such efforts it makes Bush look back and highlights the issue. Even if we fail to get the bill in question through we still make him and his party look bad.
