George Allen campaign senior adviser: "He has absolutely no intention of dragging this out"
Media reports on Wednesday night said Democrats had sewn up enough seats to take the Senate as well when James Webb defeated Republican Sen. George Allen (news, bio, voting record) in the closely contested Virginia race.

Webb led Allen by about 7,000 votes out of 2.3 million cast. A senior adviser to the Allen campaign told Reuters "the senator is awaiting the full recanvassing, which is progressing quickly and looks like it should be wrapped up by mid- to late afternoon tomorrow.

If the numbers continue to favor Webb, Allen "has made it clear to staff, to me in particular that he has absolutely no intention of dragging this out," the adviser said.

1. Does anyone else think the reason the GOP and Allen are not
screaming about a re-vote, a re-count or even an examination of the vote machines is because the GOP is afraid it will bring their attempted vote rigging to light?

2. In the words of noted philosopher Arthur Fonzarelli ...
"Exactamundo, Cunningham!"

On the other hand, voting "glitches" are being taken much more seriously now. Have no doubt, it WILL come out.

George "Macaca" Allen will have to go into prison rehab.

5. Yes!!
The exit polls showed Webb winning by 5 or 6 points. I think they tried to steal it and fell short. What is happening now, does not fit Allen's personality. He is not very bright and probably didn't have a clue. The white House probably called him and told him he couldn't have a recount.

4. Have been tracking the vote canvas online. Allen has gained only 1 vote since last night!

Jim Webb's lead is still 7,316 votes.

7. Make that....
7484 for Webb now.

As predicted, any canvasing or recount will only increase the leaders lead inthe end.
