with her rhetoric.
Democratic warhawk, John Murtha, was at it again this morning on the news. The guy is relentless and I love it. You don't hear him backing down at all from his position on Iraq. He's still spouting things like how that country is just a mess, how Iraqis want us out of there, and how 61% of Iraqis think it's okay to kill an American. He's pointing out right away how Bush, Gates, & the pukes are planning on bringing us more of the same instead of going in a different direction like what the voters voted for. For anyone who was wondering who'd be the first Democrat who'd step up since the elections, and walk the walk, Murtha fits the bill. Nice to see we have one tough Democrat speaking up and echoing the demands of the voters.
Then there's Nancy Pelosi. There were few people bashing the life out of George Bush over the past couple of years more than Nancy did. Haha, you'd never know it after listening to her the last couple of days. I know there are plenty of people who are going to say she's being smart, she's being political, and so on, considering she's going to head the House and the elections were just 2 days ago. The thing is, the lady I'm hearing now isn't the same lady I heard calling Bush a liar and a warmonger a while back, among many other things. I haven't heard a shred of that old toughness coming from her like we've heard in the past. Instead, it's more like a lovefest. Now, I don't expect her to show vitriol towards Bush like she has recently, but I would like to hear just a wee bit of toughness coming from her like what Murtha is doing. All I've heard so far is how badly she wants to work with Bush and how impeachment is off the table. Woo hoo. It's not just how badly she wants to cooperate with Bush, but how often and how emphatically she lets it be known in just a short matter of time. I realize we have to extend our hands to them, but we don't have to roll over and STFU about everything we've been talking about concerning bringing the troops home in a hurry. How many times are you going to extend that olive branch to Bush, Nancy? She looks like a pushover to me. It's as if she's more worried about what Republican will think of her than she is about pissing off the loyal Democratic base who are the reason she's made it to where she is. Bush said in his phone call with Nancy right after we won the House that it was a wonderful call, very gracious and blah blah blah. I'm glad I didn't hear it.
Murtha truly has spine, and he's not playing Mr Nice Guy just because of an election where we clobbered their asses. I hope more Democrats step up their rhetoric just like he's consistently doing.
