Pelosi and Reid are going to make nice, instead of going for the jugular. It's a mistake not to go for big changes to get the USA out of the six year hole the Repukes have put us in.

3. I wish people would wait till after the fact to complain.
We haven't even taken control and I'm having to listen to this garbage. This is the second thread so far today like this. Why did we even fight to take control?

compared to what? the nastiest republican congress we have seen in my lifetime? repugs are nasty, dems are not. personally, i like it that way. let's give them a chance before we start rapping them.

besides, john conyers will be head of judiciary . . . think about it. he has plenty of spine.

11. You better be careful
I'm all for gloating and getting America back on the right track but we cannot do it the way the repukes did it.

Ellenfl is correct repukes are nasty. They had all the power. They had all three branches of government in their control. They had all the media in their control. And what did they do with it? They continually ridiculed and insulted every liberal opinion. They shut out the liberal voice from every governmental decision then insulted every liberal in every available media. They never heard of the saying: "Don't kick a man when he is down."

They kicked us liberal dogs around until we turned around and bit their legs off in the election. Like the torture of POWs motivates your enemy, so does cruelty in politics. We don't want to inadvertently motivate the conservatives by being cruel.

7. I'm not gonna worry a bunch. Dems are not well disciplined
and Waxman, and Conyers are powerful in their own right. And they both have lists of things they want to do in the world of their own committees.

Pelosi and Reid will soon realize they are STILL herding cats.

10. Bull. I'm tired of this talk. Join the damn Republicans if
you think that will make your balls big.

Our guys faced down and won against the most vicious, vile,
corrupt and contemptible pirates who ever walked in the
capitol.
I'm damn proud of our team.
I also think it's time for us to stand up and
think in terms of leading with a positive
agenda.
Wake up. As much as we hate Bush on this
board, 97 percent of the American people are simply
not aware of even a tiny portion of who he
is and what he has done. When you
make revenge on Bush your number one
issue, you play RIGHT into the hands of the
fascists.
Take the high road - raise minimum wage,
take on Global warming, take back oil
subsidies, roll back the alternative minimum tax,
and repeal the tax cuts to the super rich.

AT THE SAME TIME, INVESTIGATE, SUBPOENA,
and PUT THESE BASTARDS UNDER OATH.

Squeeze them slowly until Americans are so nauseated by
the spectacle, that republicans BEG us to impeach the
bastard.

12. I am willing to do a "wait & see" approach. I too don't trust this
administration. I am not sure about the new Sec of Def yet, wait & see. The replacement alone does not change the policy on Iraq. I hope the dems really direct us on a new policy change because they will try to use this as a continuation of their policy and staying in Iraq.

Regardless, I agree on cooperation as long as it is not only cooperation on Bush's terms.

I am looking forward to

@) assistance for those students unable to afford & get into college.
b) investigation into Cheney's oil buddies and their part in writing our energy policy.
c) the minimum wage increase.
d) throw the stem-cell research back on Bush'/s desk.
e) some oversight and a real look at how Bush mislead us or got us into Iraq & Halliburton.
f. A rollback of the top 1% tax breaks and some kind of a payroll tax reduction for
those working and middle class americans.

I am willing to wait and see what develops.

13. I get that feeling too.
I'll feel better when Pelosi and Reid layout the exact details of the changes they want in Iraq.
