Stan Jones, Libertarian, got 10,324 votes for 2.6 percent of the Montana vote for the United States Senate, possibly saving the election for Tester. The Freeper HATES his guts now :)

Go to his site and give him a big DU thank you. Without this 3rd party candidate sucking 10K from Burns we would have come up short

3. I saw this also!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the fact that the Libertarian candidate played spoiler in this election! Without Jones and the ~10,000 Montana residents that voted for him, we would have had a 50/50 split in the Senate and Cheney would have had so much more power (and a bigger ego). Things could have ended very differently for us if it weren't for Jones.

And whenever a Freeper (or anyone else) used the words Nader, 2000, and Florida in the same sentence, throw this Senate race right in their face!

5. I'm not sure those votes came uniformly from Burns.
Many who vote for Libertarians are doing a protest vote and some are liberals or liberal leaning moderates.

7. His website is completely contradictory.
The title bar for the window says "Stan Jones - Libertarian for Governor."

The title of the page says "Stan Jones Libertarian for US Senate."

In part of his letter he says, "I'm running for Governor to drastically reduce state government."

And then later in the letter he says, "For example, if I'm elected governor, I will issue a..."

Did he even know what office he was running for? Did his constituents? Was he trying to run for both offices? :eyes:
