"They will have to govern from the center" says the corporate media |
|
This will be their mantra, when in fact, the liberal agenda is the center. There was a reference here earlier that said just that with high percentages of Americans favoring new campaign finance reform, taking the money out of politics, health care for all, lower national dept, no torture, no illegal eavesdropping, affordable higher education and on and on. The corporatists will try to make us govern from their center so they will get all they want and we the people once again will get little. Will they now start pouring money into the campaigns of the Dems now to buy their support and force them to the corporate center, which is really the right?
The corporate media will keep pushing the US to the center to keep the status quo. We will have to keep on fighting to keep the people's needs ahead of the corporate needs.

2. Yup, thats the point it was their guys and now they will keep the |

mantra going that we are toooooooo liberal. And will stick to the wedge issues over and over again intead of the real issues. How can we make the word liberal a good one again. Especially when we know that most Americans agree with us?

4. exactly. I just keep hearing the talking heads say we will |
|
have to govern from the center and I think they will use this to label anything we do that is anti-corporate interest as liberal and scare the populace with the L and socialist word. Just hoping that the people are too smart for it. However, the people have not shown too much smarts in their blind support for Bush.

6. It would be wise to do so. |
|
This was not a liberal mandate. Even in elections where we have gotten 60% of the vote, when we push our agenda too hard there is a backlash. America self-equilibrates readily. This is a rejection of how far the Republicans went, not necessarily a mandate for liberal policies. We should start with the least controversial stuff like lobbying reform and middle class tax cuts and then move on to healthcare, where we also have big support.
