The Media Just Kills Me... |
|
Well, not literally. I just had the unfortunate experience of catching a moment of ABC News with Charles Gibson. On accepting the news that Senator Allen conceded and it's official, the Democrats have a majority in the Senate as well as the House, he turned to the camera and said:
"So we have a divided government!"**~Charles Gibson, ABC News, 11/09/06
Divided Government Charlie? In what way is this any different from what we've had these several years? The names are reversed, but that's all... (it makes a world of difference, but it's no different as far as being a "divided government")
**Translation: "Oh Crap! Now, it's official, our fine government is FACING total GRIDLOCK... WE'RE DOOMED... and it's all because of THOSE DAMNED, Troublemaking "LIBERALS" (Democrats)! They couldn't leave well enough alone... Everyone knows they have NO IDEAS... They CAN'T GOVERN... and WE'LL be the ones who will PAY..."

2. One party rule ended well before... |
|
In context, he was responding to news that Democrats would indeed have a majority in the Senate; and "one party rule" ended days ago when we achieved a majority in the House, but I take your point. Thank you.
