2. The US Senate knows -- go here:
http://www.senate.gov/pagelayout/committees/d_three_sections_with_teasers/committees_home.htm

Then go to the different committees that are linked there and see who the ranking democrat member is.

Example

Ranking Member is Senator Kennedy

6. Kennedy will get the HELP Committee

Health, Education, Labor and Pensions. This is an excellent place for Sen. Kennedy and these concerns echo his life long passions in government.

He will still be on Judiciary, but Sen. Leahy will chair.
