Christ...can't we enjoy this for one day before we start arguing again... |
|
Edited on Thu Nov-09-06 10:39 PM by SaveElmer
This parsing of credit for our victory is just STUPID...
You want to know who deserves the credit for it?
DNC DSCC DCCC Howard Dean Rahm Emanuel Chuck Schumer Kos MyDD TPM Raising Kaine Donkey Digest Centrist Democrats of America PDA DFA DLC DU
and most importantly
Every volunteer who walked a block, made a call, dropped a leaflet, or worked a poll...
Why can't we just fuckin enjoy the victory without everyone bickering over who should get the credit...
We all get the credit!

Because this is DU, thats why, and there are always going to be those people on this site who can't wait till theres something new to argue about.
Congratulations to ALL the Dems who won on Tuesday, and to ALL the supporters, big or small, who helped them do it.

there are so many reasons to be against all of these groups and persons:
DNC - too moderate! DSCC - too ooshy! DCCC - too reasonable! Howard Dean - too far left! Rahm Emanuel - he had bad breath a couple of weeks ago! Chuck Schumer - closet supporter of Borat! Kos - likes peanut butter on their toast! MyDD - Who is this??!! TPM - Wears boxers!! Raising Kaine - Wears TPM's boxers!! Donkey Digest - These guys are just big a*(*es!!! Centrist Democrats of America - right wing shills!!! PDA - personal digital assistants... need I say more??? DFA - I've never liked the democratic farmers of america, too organic!!! DLC - too far left on some issues and too far right on others!!! DU - too many opinions!!! why can't everyone conform to exactly my viewpoints!!!

10. An addition to your list of who deserves credit: |
|
Every senior citizen, for being the most reliable voting constituency.
Every 18-to-34-year old, who got involved in the political process. Thank you for every phone call you made, every piece of campaign literature you dropped, every sign you put together, every neighborhood you canvassed. It's your country, and this is your war. Stay involved in the political process, and don't ever give up.
Every member of the armed forces who voted for the Democratic ticket. We won't let you down.
Every American who voted for change this past Tuesday. We're on our way to putting this country back on the right path. ******************************************************************* BTW, what are we fighting about?

are Great. Even the ones I had doubts about weeks ago. Dem. party looks great from here.
Bush still causes me some stress. He seems to be trying so hard to keep it together. During chat with Nancy his hands seemed clenched together, anyone notice? The group picture he had taken in front of White House was one pitiful looking bunch. Took me awhile to identify Cheney he looked sooo old. Condi lost that perpetual grin, you know, the one she had even when talking about the fallen troops.

15. You've got my vote on this one! |
|
Everyone on your list deserves credit and the truth is, a lot of very different Democrats did the winning. We're a big tent party for real. There are going to be LOTS of fireworks about that. Right now, I don't care. I'm just giddy about having checks and balances, a bit of representation, a democracy and apparently even a vote. I feel like after years of watching it slip away we've got our country back, albeit not in the same condition as when it was first misplaced.
I'll happily give credit to all for this. I'm grateful to everyone who made it happen, even if they differ ini priorities or approach.

We are all Democrats today and tomorrow. We can talk of DINOS and PINKOS and point and snicker at each other all we want, but what we need to speak about in order to stay in the majority is wtf we are going to do together, DINOS and PINKOS alike. This will entail a coalition of the willing; willing to compromise (hardline moderates and leftwing radicals alike). I may not get every reform I want, but I'll be damned if I see another moderate kissy facing with a rightwinger. That makes this PINKO jealous, because you belong with me. If it does happen just know that I'd knowingly shake my head and say, "He's just using you, you silly, silly little play toy." After you've had your fun and you've been heart broken you will have a home right here, so long as you remain Democratic. Now, get over here you DINO and give daddy PINKO a big ol' sloppy wet one. We belong together. We may not see eye-to-eye but I'll be damned If I let you get used again.
Now let's talk. But after I smoke this cigarette and get some sleep...because that was one good kiss and I'm spent.

23. Apparently not! Pretty silly, isn't it? We just took back the House |
|
and the Senate and we're arguing about who gets the credit, what the party should do next, whether to attempt tp impeach Bush or not, etc.
Seems like now that we have the majority, we could a) celebrate a bit more and b) discuss, rather than argue.
