Tell Senator Elect McCaskill NOT To Confirm John Bolton
Read more here, but the gist of it from writer, activist, educator Linda Milazzo is

We must hold our leaders' feet to the fire. We must do everything possible to ensure that the actions of our elected representatives IN OUR NAMES are in the best interest of the citizens of this nation and the citizens of the world.

With that notion in mind, I was startled this afternoon, when in a conversation with Chris Matthews on MSNBC's "Hardball," Democratic Senator-elect Claire McCaskill of Missouri, stated that she would consider confirming George W. Bush's contentious and slimy recess appointee, John Bolton, as United States' Ambassador to the United Nations. ...

I call upon my fellow patriots to ask Senator-elect McCaskill to vote against John Bolton as United States Ambassador to the United Nations. She may be reached by phone at: (816) 356-1659 and by email at < info@claireonline.com >.

3. It was a quote (without the "") from the cited article, but
even if it weren't a quote , I meant what I said. I am not in the habit of saying that which I don't mean.

2. I hope she's just holding her fire, but can't fathom why she would
vote for him. People surprise other people. We will know the temperature of the Dems that have been elected soon enough.

4. She was being diplomatic
nothing more nothing less.

She hedged when Tweety blindsided her with that question.

Besides the question is moot, since Biden said he'll quash the nom in committee.

Move on

Also, what's up with Tweety and his Mr Smith Goes To Washington obsession of late? That's just wierd

5. She is not going to have a chance...
It won't get out of committee with the Republicans in charge....

Lincoln Chaffee has already said he would vote against him...

No way it gets out of committee in a Democratically controlled committee...

7. Bolton's nomination won't even get a hearing.... much ado
and all that...Her comments without knowing what she was talking about were a rookie mistake, but it isn't going to matter in this case...

10. "A rookie mistake"
I saw the interview and that's how I see it. She really took me by surprize and it seems, Tweety, too. When she saw his reaction she sorta backpedaled.

Yeah .... I'll go with rookie mistake.

9. It's a tad too early for her to be considering anything
She just got elected Senator two days ago, and she's not going to be in until January--her head's probably still spinning as well.

12. It's never too early to put one's thinking cap on.
By analogy, I would hate to think that a newly licensed physician would inadvertently overlook sterile technique before surgery.

RE: John Bolton

Dear Senator Elect:

You were not elected to support this man as our representative to the U. N.

If you support him, rest assured you will lose the support of many democrats across the country and in Missouri.

If you support him, I will work to defeat you in a primary election in 2012. Count on it.

Sincerely, xxxxxx xxxxxxx

She needs to know right now that she made a mistake. I liked her based on what I saw, but for her to even think of supporting Bolton is crazy.
