Just heard some PR person named Lisa Caputo on Hardball.
She ia a Clinton advisor. Talk about a deliberate slam on the party chairman. She was talking about all the state houses and governorships we won back.

To his credit Chris Matthews said sounds like you are giving Howard Dean credit for reaching to all those.

She did not even let it go. She said no. just no. She said Rahm's my buddy and I have to give him credit.

I had seen this mentioned at Kos earlier tonight, but I thought it was just overreacting.

She was deliberately saying no to giving Dean any credit at all..it was quick to the point, like it was planned. She gave only Rahm credit, even for the state houses and governors.

Dean and Bill Richardson had a breakfast with the CS Monitor, they had a press conference together. It was about the governor's races. Rahm doesn't do governor's races, Richardson and the DGA do, along with the DNC It got no coverage. There was zero coverage of the conference.

I am going to check out this lady some more. I would not have believed it if I had not seen it. Just before Hardball was over.

There is a lot of credit to share, but Rahm should not be getting credit for statehouses and governors..not his deal. Dean gets no mention in the MSM, but at least got credit at Salon and Raw Story. Guess we have to make our own media.

3. She dissed Richardson as well. She was so obvious.
Here is a picture to prove they had a press conference. I guess we need to do that since the media doesn't cover it. Rahm is NOT in charge of governorships and statehouses, he is the head of the Democratic CONGRSSIONAL Campaign Committee.

Little Lisa Cavuto doesn't know what she is talking about.

New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson (L), Democratic Governors Association Chair, gives a thumbs-up during a joint news conference with Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean on the midterm elections results in Washington November 8, 2006. REUTERS/Yuri Gripas (UNITED STATES)

And a few snips from US News to prove they had one.

"T-Paw and Others You Need to Know
Those midterm elections Tuesday continue to help weed out and build up the list of candidates expected to run for president in 2008. Let's start with the growing list of big losers. You can add Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist to former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner, who whined about the travel, and two foot-in-mouth senators, Republican George Allen and Democrat John Kerry.

Frist, who was a lackluster candidate at best, is being written off by his own party elders because of the power shift in the Senate. Also, you can forget about Allen campaign manager Dick Wadhams, who was being heralded as the next James Carville or Ken Mehlman for helping South Dakota Sen. John Thune slay former Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle. Even his own team says the Allen campaign was a disaster. Also gone: Ken Mehlman, the able GOP chairman (some say best ever), who's got to be worn out after running President Bush's re-election and the midterms. He plans to announce his plans in the coming weeks.

Now the bright spots: Add Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty to the stack of presidential timber. The conservative was down for the count in a purple state but came back to win re-election. "T-Paw," as his supporters call him, has a bright national future, say GOP bigs. Over a chicken lunch, Mehlman said T-Paw "is a fantastic leader." Put New Mexico Democratic Gov. Bill Richardson on the list of Dems seeking the job. He is chairman of the Democratic Governors Association and raised $13 million for his team. He'll most likely enter the race in January and says he's got lots to offer the nation. Over bacon and eggs today, he spelled out his Iraq policy: Start withdrawing in 2007 to other regions, and get Middle East nations to join in rebuilding Iraq. One problem: He's a very likable guy, but he seems to lack the energy a candidate needs. But maybe that was because he was sitting next to Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean, who was at his best touting why the Dems did well Tuesday. Oh, let me add: Richardson, who is looking much thinner, skipped the meal. Dean ate it all and even spread butter on his chocolate-filled pastry.

And on the staffing level, watch Steve Schmidt, the campaign manager for California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Arnold was headed for defeat before the former Bush and Cheney aide went to Sacramento; now that campaign is being held up as the model for revamping the national GOP.

6. The CS Monitor gave credit to Richardson and Dean...a breakfast.
For Lisa Cavuto to give credit to Rahm for thess races is just pathetic. Rahm has nothing to do with these. I am going to contact Hillary's website...this was so blatant and so ignorant.

http://www.csmonitor.com/2006/1110/p10s01-usmb.html

"This was a seismic shift," Howard Dean, chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), told reporters at a Monitor breakfast Thursday. " a moving away from right-wing extremism and back to a centrist agenda."

Set aside, for now, is the feud between Mr. Dean and the House and Senate Democratic campaign committees over whether precious campaign funds should be spent in the short term, to win the midterm elections, or for the longer term, Dean's plan to grow the party in all 50 states. After a historic win taking back the House and maybe the Senate, both can be right.

"We were competitive in every region," says New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, also at the Monitor Breakfast. "The 50-state strategy has worked to revive the Democratic Party."

The key to this election wasn't just turning out the base, both men stressed: It was reaching outside the party.

"Look, the independents won this election for us," says Dean.

By having DNC staff on the ground in all 50 states at least a year before the Nov. 7 vote, Democrats were positioned to take advantage of a souring public mood for the GOP. "We put folks into Indiana a year and half before we knew the candidates," Dean says."

7. First Lisa Caputo, now today James Carville.
Lisa and Carville, two deliberate attempts...right out in the open.

I wasn't going to kick this post, just let it die. But I have decided to try to contact Ms Caputo to educate her on the party's various sections. Rahm doesn't do state houses and governorships.

However, today James Carville calls the NYT to say this, it was not solicited.

"The praise from Mr. Romney was echoed in an unsolicited call from James Carville, a veteran Democratic operative who is married to Mary Matalin, a veteran Republican strategist.

“The R.N.C. did a better job than the D.N.C. this year,” Mr. Carville said, referring to the Democratic National Committee.

He said Democrats succeeded because the party’s House and Senate campaign committees compensated for what Mr. Carville described as the shortcomings of the Democratic National Committee, allowing the party to take advantage of a wave of voter resentment directed at Republicans.

“When one of these things hit, it doesn’t matter who the party chairman is,” he said."

8. Someone else saw her that day
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/11/11/52334/959

"I saw Lisa Caputo on MSNBC the day after the election and I believe it was Chris Matthews that threw her a softball that was something to the effect of "now that the democrats have won the midterm elections, will you give credit to Howard Dean and his 50 state strategy?" Instead of being diplomatic she went out of her way to say "no I give the credit to my good friend Rahm Emmanuel" It was an obvious dig at Dean, and a slight to the net roots. Its almost to the point where you can't name one member of Clinton's senior staff that hasn't taken a shit on Howard Dean. Hillary (and Harold Ford) knifing Kerry in the back about that statement he made about Bush and his intelligence; totally unnecessary but typical."

At this point I was assuming everyone would get credit due. so I was upset to see her.
